Valorant aim benchmark: 3 levels, 12 ranks, every Monday

The weekly Valorant aim benchmark in EsportManager: 3 levels, 12 ranks, energy per subcategory, a promotion rule and scores you enter by hand from KovaaK's.

What it is, in short

The EsportManager benchmark measures your aim once a week, on Voltaic x KovaaK's scenarios. You play the scenarios in KovaaK's on PC, you enter your scores by hand, and EsportManager computes an energy per subcategory, then an overall energy.[1] It is free, with a Google sign-in.[2]

There are 3 levels and 12 ranks.[3] Each week starts fresh on Monday, in UTC, and your history keeps the past weeks.[4]

One caveat before you go on: the energy scale is EsportManager's own, at 90 points per rank.[5] It is not the official Voltaic rank. Compare yourself to your previous weeks, not to an outside ladder.

The levels, rank by rank

You start in Novice. The ranks are split across three levels of four.[3]

Level Ranks Scenarios
Novice Iron, Bronze, Silver, Gold 12 scenarios, 6 subcategories[6]
Intermediate Platinum, Diamond, Jade, Master 16 scenarios, 8 subcategories[6]
Advanced Grandmaster, Nova, Astra, Celestial 16 scenarios, 8 subcategories[6]

Strafe only appears from Intermediate: strafe-click and strafe-track join the base subcategories.[6] Rank names are never translated.

How energy is computed

Each rank is worth 90 energy points, from Iron (90) to Celestial (1,080).[5] Your score on a scenario lands between two rank thresholds and earns an in-between energy. Example on VT Pasu Rasp Novice: 600 points are worth 135, halfway between Iron and Bronze.[7]

A subcategory's energy is the average of its scenarios.[7] Overall energy is the harmonic mean of the subcategories. With 360 and 180 you get 240, not 270.[8] A weak subcategory therefore pulls your overall energy down, and that is what tells you what to work on.

Overall energy stays provisional until the benchmark is complete.

Promotion

To change level, your overall energy must reach that of the level's last rank: 360 in Novice, 720 in Intermediate, 1,080 in Advanced.[9] When you hit the threshold on a benchmark already done, the promotion is held and applies the following Monday.[10]

Week after week

You redo the benchmark every week, Monday to Sunday in UTC.[4] The History page keeps each week so you can see whether a subcategory is climbing or stuck.[11] The daily routine is built on these results: read the routine page for what comes next.

What the benchmark does not do

  • It does not replace KovaaK's: without it, there are no scenarios to play. KovaaK's is a paid game on Steam.[1]
  • It measures mechanical aim. It says nothing about your game sense, your crosshair placement or your utility.
  • It does not read your scores automatically: you enter them by hand.[1]
  • It promises no in-game rank. Your Valorant rank also depends on your team.

Frequently asked questions

Does the EsportManager benchmark give my official Voltaic rank?

No. The scenarios come from Voltaic x KovaaK's, but the energy scale is EsportManager's own, at 90 points per rank.[5] A Celestial here is not an official Voltaic rank.

Do I need KovaaK's to run the benchmark?

Yes. The scenarios are played in KovaaK's on PC, then you enter your scores by hand.[1] KovaaK's is a paid game on Steam. Without it, you cannot run the benchmark.

When does the benchmark reset?

Every week, on Monday, in UTC.[4] Past weeks stay in your history.[11]

How do I move from Novice to Intermediate?

Reach 360 overall energy at the Novice level.[9] If you reach it after a benchmark already done, the promotion applies the following Monday.[10]

Why does overall energy drop when one subcategory is weak?

Because it is a harmonic mean: a low subcategory weighs more than it would in a plain average.[8] That is on purpose, since the benchmark exists to find your weak spots.
